Fairbrother Designs

Event Set-Up · Logistics Manager · Digital Marketing & Web Development
Fairbrother Designs is led by David Fairbrother, a respected consultant, buyer, and restoration expert specializing in European art and antiques. The company also designs and builds bespoke furniture for clients across the U.S.

Role Overview

I joined Fairbrother Designs in 2019 as a logistics and marketing consultant, contributing on-site in Round Top, Texas for their seasonal U.S. events. During the pandemic years (2020-2021), I pivoted to a remote digital role from Canada -redesigning the company website and Facebook presence, and planning the return-to-market strategy for post-Covid shows.

I returned on-site in Texas for the company’s 2022 and 2023 Fall exhibitions at Excess Field, continuing to support all aspects of logistics, digital infrastructure, and show execution.

Responsibilities & Highlights

  • Inventory Logistics & Compliance:
Coordinated storage, shipment, and customs clearance of high-value European antiques, managing broker relations and carrier compliance via Nippon Express (Antwerp, Belgium).
  • U.S. Operations:
Engaged directly with U.S. customs brokers to verify agriculture inspections and clearances. Managed relationships with freight carriers, movers, and accommodation vendors across Texas.
  • Inbound & Outbound Warehousing:
Oversaw physical warehousing setup and teardown during Round Top events, including inbound receiving and outbound distribution of inventory.
  • Customer & Show Support:
Handled on-the-ground client inquiries and resolved logistics-related service issues to maintain a seamless customer experience during live events.
  • Digital Transformation:
Redesigned the company website and refreshed its Facebook presence to modernize brand positioning. Developed an initial social strategy, which was later scaled back during the pandemic, with continued seasonal updates to Instagram and Facebook during key show periods.
  • E-commerce Setup:
Collaborated on the development of a Shopify storefront to enable post-show and remote sales; launch was deferred due to evolving business needs during the pandemic.
