Markham Fair, 2022 – Project Management (Contract with FleishmanHillard HighRoad).
While on contract with FleishmanHillard HighRoad, I managed the early planning and logistics for an interactive brand experience for Capital One Canada at the 2022 Markham Fair. This one-of-a-kind claw machine activation, called “A Fair Game,” was built around the idea that every participant would win — reflecting Capital One’s brand ethos: “You’ve Got This. We’ve Got You.”
My role involved coordinating the foundational elements that set the project up for success, including:
- Researching major event opportunities across Ontario and Quebec
- Sourcing claw machines in North America for refurbishment or purchase
- Exploring custom fabrication options for a brand-new unit
- Identifying suppliers for a fully customized booth build
- Coordinating trucking and event logistics
- Recommending staffing partners for brand ambassadors
- Establishing budgets and timelines across all workstreams
The activation drew approximately 2,800 fairgoers over four days and helped reinforce Capital One Canada’s mission to give every Canadian a fair chance — both in life and in credit. This project was a great example of collaborative execution, involving teams from Toronto, St. Louis, and local partners in Markham.
